Description
What if someone gave you a dangerous gift? And what if that gift was a lost novel from the Great Depression and an old man's dying request that somehow, some way you had to find a way to publish it and warn people of what was coming? MY STRANGER is the strange story of Joyce, a failed writer living in New York during 9/11, struggling to come to terms with the gift Percy had left her when she was only twenty years old, only to find after thirty years that his tale was true.
MY STRANGER is the thought-provoking literary novel on the theme of the deep changes in the American psyche after 9/11. Set in New York, it explores the writer's passion for writing and the sacrifice of living a writer's life. This experimental fiction is set in two parts. Part One is presented in the form of letters written to Joyce's brother on the occasion of the publication of her of life's quest, Percy's depression era novel When Comes the Stranger. Part Two gives us the strange novel, told in the form of a mystery tale, embracing a haunting story of a mysterious stranger and his mansion overlooking a dying New York City.
MY STRANGER offers penetrating reflections into the life of the a writer and sets a new standard in post 9/11 fiction.
