Army Lieutenant Josh Davis suffers a devastating tragedy while home on military leave, while out on a hunting trip in Montana. He wakes up in the local hospital unaware of the severity of his injuries.
Trusting God for strength, Josh overcomes his injuries and returns to active duty on his first assignment in the desert of Iran as an Army Ranger. It isn't until he joins his new unit that he discovers that his commanding officer is his older brother. Lieutenant Davis is now in command of a reconnaissance team who have recently lost their previous commander in battle.
In the team's first recon mission they come under attack, earning Josh and his team commendations. During a later mission, the team finds itself in a battle with the enemy resulting in casualties and Josh injured.
For his bravery in battle, Lieutenant Joshua Davis earns the Congressional Medal of Honor and a trip to the White House. While there he meets Michele, the president's daughter, and his future wife.
After Josh retires, he and Michele return to his family home in Montana for what they believe will be a relaxing, peaceful life together.
Not long afterward, a politically conservative group asks Josh to run for the U. S. presidency. After careful deliberation, Josh agrees and runs the highest office in the land. To his and Michele's surprise, they discover the road to the White House means campaigning against his father-in-law, a one-term president. Their political and personal battle ends in tragedy.
