Description
On the remote eastern outskirts of the Roman empire a centurion struggles with the memory of an ugly execution he supervised over the weekend. Something about the native teacher, a Jewish rabbi, haunts him. Controversy around the man was enough to prompt the local leadership to post a heavy guard at the man's gravesite. After four days, however, the worst happens;
The Body Is Missing.
How could a grave-robbing scheme get past so many soldiers? After many tedious hours of a physical investigation, the military governor summons the Centurion to a general court-martial of anyone who had anything to do with the execution or burial.
An otherwise morbid theme becomes exciting when the record is carefully examined and reality is put ahead of tradition.
