"Where are the Bears?" is one of the most commonly asked questions in Yellowstone National Park.

In five summers of working in Yellowstone, I have looked for bears and other animals. I have found and photographed animals along the roads, in picnic areas and campgrounds, and along popular trails. I have also talked to thousands of tourists, many of whom have told me where they have seen Yellowstone's wildlife. All of that information has gone into the writing of this book.
This book gives descriptions of most of the animals that tourists will see in Yellowstone including their preferred habitats. It also includes viewing tips and guidance about where to look for those animals. However, it is only guidance. Bears, and other animals, are where you find them.
