Molested

You're positive you'd know if your husband was a child molester, aren't you? After all, you'd sense something, right? Or your child would tell you. There's no way your child could be molested undetected for years.

That's exactly what Audrey Wilson thought - she believed her husband was an excellent father to their two children. He was so attentive, so involved in every aspect of their lives, from changing diapers to buying clothes, and never complained.

But his role as a loving, kind, and wonderful father was a well-crafted illusion.

In actuality, he was living a child molester's dream. He not only grew his own victim, but bonded with her, dominated her, and had unsupervised access to her tiny body for hours at a time. His true motives were never seen by his trusting wife, who saw only what he wanted her to see.

Child Sexual Abuse

Believe it or not, it's highly likely that YOU know a child molester. Molesters look like ordinary people. They derive tremendous satisfaction duping people into believing they're normal.

The United States Department of Justice states 1 out of 3 girls and 1 out of 5 boys will be molested before the age of 18. Strangely, these numbers provide comfort to parents, leading them to believe their children are not likely to be victims of a child molester. They teach their children about "stranger danger" and "good touch, bad touch" and think that'll keep their kids safe. What they don't understand is that more than 90% of molested children know their molester, and won't acknowledge abuse even if asked point-blank. Shockingly, almost half of molestations are by a trusted relative. "Stranger danger" accounts for less than 10% of all sexual abuse.

If that doesn't make you think twice, then think about this - it is estimated that 1 in 20 teenage boys and adult men have molested a child. Chances are, you know a child molester or two. And they don't look like dirty old men, they look like our husbands, fathers, grandfathers, brothers, uncles, sons, and cousins. Female child molesters are significantly fewer in number.

Child Sexual Abuse is a pandemic. It's an ugly topic that no one wants to talk about, but the astronomical numbers of adults who admit to being molested are proof a serious problem exists. Estimates of 60 million survivors in the United States alone live with the trauma of having been molested as a child, (survivorsvoice.org) and roughly half were molested by a relative.

Incest

The main goal of child molesters is to find a suitable child to dominate and control. Child molesters often don't care if their victims are related to them or not; all that matters is access. Relatives are granted unsupervised one-on-one contact with children without hesitation. What better setting could a child molester want for his or her twisted fantasies?

Incest is the consummate evil act. It is a betrayal of an innocent child's love and trust. Children molested by strangers can get help and be comforted by their parents; however, incest victims don't have that luxury. Millions are shocked upon discovering a member of the family molested another member.

Audrey Wilson was devastated to learn she was married to a psychopathic child molester, who left a trail of trauma, pain, and wounded hearts. She tells her story in the hope of showing non-offending parents just how well child molesters deceive and what to look for to protect the most vulnerable people in society - our children.
