Description
A dead baby. Overwhelming grief. Is it too much for a young mother to bear?
A dead baby is discovered by Padre Symmonds, the tiny, cold bundle found on the doorstep of the Aldershot Garrison Church. While trying to identify the body, SIB investigator Sgt Major Crane and DI Anderson visit Kerry, an army wife recently widowed, but she convinces them her own baby is alive and well.
But Kerry is in the grip of grief and in her fractured mind believes she is communicating with her dead husband.
Then a child is snatched in broad daylight. As a new father himself, Crane struggles to deal with a distraught mother and an angry soldier, both trying to come to terms with their horrendous loss.
With determination and resolve that can only come from the heart, can Crane find the child? For the alternative is too horrific to contemplate.
