Description
There is no single undisputed definition of what Messianic Judaism is. To its opponents it is a syncretic blending of Christianity and Judaism, showing offense to both. To others it is an authentic return to 1st Century (CE ) worship.
The dominant view within the movement is that Messianic Judaism is that it is an authentic expression of modern Jewish worship practices with a theology similar to Christianity, but unencumbered by Christian practices that have been added since AD 35. It also holds to an interpretation of Scripture that could have been acceptable to the early Church, which itself was predominantly Jewish, and rejects the modifications to faith and practice that were added by the Pharisees of Jesus' day and the rabbinical traditions since then. This book seeks to add clarity to the discussion by synthesizing the dominant views and practices within the core of the movement, and to build awareness of its existence.
