Receiving his first official mission, Mikal sets out to identify the meddlesome 'Renegade Wizard'. Helping him with his quest is girlfriend Lissa, and daughter of the Dragon Lord, Pravara. Together, the three of them explore all areas of Lentari, from the mountains in the north, to the deepest trenches of the western sea, while a dark, unknown entity threatens the very existence of the kingdom. Mikal, the Lentarian crown prince, has recently celebrated his 18th birthday. Growing restless under his parents' constant watch, Mikal asks his father for something to do. Something worthwhile.

Kri'Entu, king of Lentari, and Mikal's father, has his own dilemma to deal with. He has received disturbing news which could have permanent repercussions on every man, woman, and child living in Lentari.
