Description
"Thank God Star Watch is back!!" "I feel like I'm a member of this interstellar family... more... more please!" Five years have passed, and the story begins in a dark period within the Star Watch saga. Captain Jason Reynolds, Omni of the U.S. Space Fleet, along with his now sixteen-year-old daughter, Mollie, are en route to the Dacci System to attend the memorial service for none other than Boomer, his other daughter. Information on her death had been sketchy at best -- an attack by the Sahhrain on Harpaign, during the Goldwon graduation trials. It had been a massacre. The Blues have since declared war on the Sahhrain, and there is a good chance the U.S. Fleet and the Alliance will be dragged into the fray as well. Once on the planet Harpaign, Jason conducts a preliminary investigation -- one that soon reveals things are not what they seem. Information is being withheld and clues indicate there is a slim possibility that Boomer did not die on the sandy dunes battlefield of Capital City after all -- setting in motion the most riveting, non-stop action Star Watch novel yet. So grab ahold of your multi-guns and affix your enhancement shields, because this is going to be one hell of a wild, rollercoaster ride!
Reviews:
Boomer / Star Watch Book 3 by Mark Wayne McGinnis / Effigies are The Thing!
Gotta have em, even though they have no idea what will happen when they put them all together like a puzzle. Well, you won't find out in this book. Maybe in the next one. But you will have fun following along on the sci-fi space opera adventure with the usual suspects on their quest to find the effigies. The obstacle courses and challenges along the path to discovery are worthy of a great video game; and, my guess is that if this series gets enough of a following among us sci-fi buffs, a movie and game could be made. Although even with CGI it would be hard to build all the environments and such, not to mention getting the actors to do all the stunts required. But I digress. This is a fun and exciting gamer's kind of segment of the story.. Enjoy... - Char
Boomer will blow you away!
I've enjoyed all the books by Mark Wayne McGinnis like Scrapyard Ship and Ship Wrecked Stranded on an Aline World.! His clever stories, & unforgettable character-driven stories are hard for any Science Fiction Adventure Fan to pass by! "Boomer" is no exception!
Lots of action and adventure sci-fi intertwining plot twists will keep readers on the edge of their seats. If there is one negative aspect, it would be the cliffhanger Ending!
I don't mind authors using them, however, there were too many bowling pins left dangling in the air at the conclusion of this book!
Other than that, it's a great adventure!- Peter Anthony Roland / Miami Beach Florida
Very entertaining with lots of surprises.
This was a great read. The way the characters were brought together but a separate story was told by each made Boomer a very entertaining sci-fi space opera. Was not all focus on the main character from the previous stories but gave the other characters a chance to shine. Mr. McGinnis did a masterful job in telling the story and keeping it all together. All his books have been a joy to read and am looking forward to the next one.- BNSF244
I cannot say enough about this storyline it will take your breath away
This author never disappoints. This 3 book in the series is as exciting and riveting as the first and second ones. I love his caricatures, they come to life and you feel you are going right along with them. I cannot say enough about this storyline it will take your breath away and on the edge of your seat. It is an excellent read. Also loved Junket Untamed Alien Worlds.- Ted
