Description
The year is 1860 and Richard Ellis, a young boy from St. Louis, finds himself among the Blackfeet Indians on the Great Plains. With his new Indian friends, No Runner and his sister Star Woman, he sets out to help them find a sacred albino beaver deep in the Rocky Mountains. Beset by dangers - including a gigantic grizzly bear - they explore, hunt and search for the fabulous White Beaver.
James Willard Schultz (1859 - 1947) knew the Blackfeet Indians intimately. Arriving at Fort Benton in Blackfeet territory in 1877, he married his beautiful Blackfeet wife, Natahki, and spent decades as a trader, rancher and hunting guide in what is now western Montana. He also spent his later life writing 47 books, many of them novels about his friends, the Blackfeet Indians. White Beaver was originally published in 1930. Long out of print, this new electronic edition (with an explanatory introduction) makes this fascinating tale of adventure available once more to the public.
