Staff Sergeant Timothy Payne grew up in Buffalo New York and graduated high school August 2001. After the attacks on 9/11 he joined the United States Army as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. After 7 years he deployed twice to Iraq and became an expert infantryman. He was one of the top recruiters in New York State fiscal year 2007. After attempting Special Forces four times he was deployed to Afghanistan. Before his third deployment he prayed for the first time to God asking him to save his men in exchange for his life. After four months of fighting he killed insurgents and then was immediately convicted by the Holy Spirit, he bargained with God to take his legs in exchange he serve him. He was attacked and blown up on his next patrol. He written a book The Squad leaders bargain and has detailed the accounts now in Chosen.
