"The Ninety-five Theses" or "Disputation on the Power of Indulgences" are a list of propositions for an academic disputation written in 1517 by Martin Luther, professor of moral theology at the University of Wittenberg.
On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed this protest against the sale of indulgences to the church door of Wittenberg, inadvertently beginning the Protestant Reformation.
Martin Luther (10 November 1483 - 18 February 1546) was a German professor of theology, composer, priest, monk, and a seminal figure in the Protestant Reformation.
