Description
GEC starships are limited to no more than FTL 25 by means of a governor on their Faster Than Light engines. This is done to prevent computational stack-up within a ship's navigation computers. A recent breakthrough in computer technology might mean that top speeds of FTL 55 or even FTL 60 might now be possible. The Admiralty needs a capable and squared-away starship to test the Alaotto Algorithm in various real-world situations, so they turn to none other than their flagship. Fesarius is ordered to upload the Alaotto Algorithm and put it through its paces as three other starships and two Scout-class vessels look on. If the Alaotto is proven safe, GEC starships will be capable of achieving speeds of 216,000 times the speed of light! Will Fesarius succeed or fail? The answer to this question and more will be found within the pages of "The Speed Trials."
"The Speed Trials" is the seventh book in the author's Fesarius series of science fiction novels. The author has reimagined the Star Trek universe by adding elements of Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, a light sprinkling of The Orville and a boatload of common sense. More elements from The Discovery Channel, The History Channel, National Geographic and more were also added to give the reader a novel that is both comfortably familiar yet completely new. Be sure to check out the author's previously released sci-fi novels by running a search for "Fesarius" on Amazon.
