Description
Laldaboth is free. The chains are broken. They who read this are forever mine.
In Ulster, 1641, a horrific slaughter between the Irish Catholics and the Protestants is driven by the demon Laldaboth. Though he was bound by a priest, the demon will find a way to wreak havoc...
In the present, DS Martin Todd is investigating the disappearances of local children in Northern Ireland and upon digging into the matter with his partner DI Beryl Logan, they find that all the children have ties to a religious youth group. The region is still feeling the tension of Ireland's secession and the First Irish Republican Army have deep roots in the area, making any policing hazardous. Meanwhile, the Catholic church is undergoing a social reformation. No longer is it acknowledged that demons and the like are real. There is no need for exorcisms. But demonic influences keep cropping up in Ulster; who will they call on when the possessed are wreaking havoc?
Embedded in the criminal and political tensions of the time, As Kingfishers Catch Fire and Dragonflies Draw Flame is an action-packed thriller that explores what happens when the paranormal touches the normal.
