Description
Life was hell in the small house overlooking Battle Hill. Almost from birth, Adam had been the victim of brutal physical, sexual and psychological abuse at the hands of his father. Fearing for his life, Adam bravely fought back and made his escape. Believing he had found sanctuary among Manchester's gay community, things had in fact become much worse. Adam was raped, trafficked and exploited. Aged just fourteen he had been lured into the city's underground child prostitution scene. This was the beginning of seventeen years involved in the sex trade. His journey would take him from the dangerous streets of Manchester, to the luxurious surroundings of a West London brothel. All the time in the dubious company of his best friend, Mitchell. He candidly recalls the people and places he encountered, and his decline into homelessness and drug addiction. Adam never gave up hope that things would eventually get better, and this memoir records both his survival against the odds and, ultimately, his fight for redemption, eventually triumphing over great adversity through his belief in God. Now aged thirty-eight, Adam is researching his PhD at the University of Manchester.
