Description
Vetiver Quinn has a very special talent.
She can read scents like other people can read auras or tea leaves. It's not just that she knows what you ate for breakfast or whether you're prediabetic, she can deconstruct scents right down to the thoughts and intentions of those who created them.
And those olfactory nuggets tell her things, some of them secrets, some of them dangerous.
Her dad calls it "Smell-O-Vision" but he doesn't really understand it.
Vetiver doesn't completely understand it either. But she uses her "nose" to concoct the perfumed wares she sells in her shop and because people like to smell nice, she makes a pretty good living.
The scent shop is nice but she makes her real money from her private clients, the ones who know that she can be hired to create potions with a little "something extra."
That extra ingredient is magic. And that's what Peter Eliades is looking for when he comes to her shop to ask -- no, demand -- her help. Seems someone has planted a dirty bomb in Los Angeles ad he needs her help to find it.
Even if he doesn't really believe in magic.
