Description

Narcissistic psychopath and famous painter, Matsuda, readily admits to murdering his second wife. In fact, he has killed on several occasions previously - other victims including his first wife and his brother. But Matsuda only reveals this information to Ennin as part of a curious 'game' - which quickly becomes a high-stakes battle of wits between the two men.

Can Ennin prove this artist's guilt, before Matsuda murders again? Or is this latest killing by Matsuda really the 'Perfect Murder', making the arrogant artist as skilled in dispensing death as he is at painting pictures?

This is the 87th Ennin Mystery.
