Description

A Cozy Culinary Mystery.

hen April Hart, owner of the Bluewater Bakery is asked to host the Sarnia Media Group's third annual bake-off in the picturesque surroundings of Gull Bay she is thrilled. Not only does it provide her with some much-needed money before the tourist season begins, but it will really put her new bakery on the map. Little does she know that her bakery could soon become known for all the wrong reasons.

Amongst the seven contestants in the bake-off is local lothario and restaurant critic, Maurice Devine. Feared by restaurant owners as much as he is loved by the public, Maurice intends to win the competition, by fair means or foul. It seems though that there is someone who is equally intent on stopping him from winning, and will stop at nothing to ensure he is knocked out before the final cake is baked.

With the reputation of the bakery, and her own liberty, at stake, can April find out who is behind the attacks before the police arrest her. For although there is no shortage of suspects, it is April herself who appears to be the one that has the most to lose.

The second book in the Gull Bay Mystery series featuring April Hart, and the irascible, inappropriately named Hope.

Ashley Cain is a writer who feels blessed to have lived on the small island of Jersey, the sunniest area in the British Isles. Burned at the Bake is the first book in the Gull Bay Mystery series. Whilst the small but beautiful island of Jersey is filled with sandy beaches and pretty bays, Gull Bay and it's buildings and residents, exist only in the author's imagination.

30% of the profits from the Gull Bay Cozy Mystery series is given to support women's charities on the island.
