A quesadilla is a Mexican dish consisting of a tortilla that is filled primarily with cheese, and sometimes meats, spices, vegetables and other fillings, and then cooked on a griddle or stove. Quesadillas are traditionally made with a corn or flour tortilla, but other types are sometimes used.
It is one of the most popular Mexican foods in the United States and other parts of the world. By changing the types of cheese, or other fillings in the quesadilla, a wide varieties can be created.
Quesadillas are often garnished with various condiments, such as salsa, guacamole, or sour cream. Once the quesadilla is cooked it can be cut into wedges and then used to dip or scoop the traditional sides before eaten.
