In the 1920's, college student August Derleth wrote to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, asking if any more Sherlock Holmes adventures were going to be published. Upon receiving a negative reply, Derleth decided to provide some of his own. However, rather than relating more tales of Holmes and Dr. Watson, he ended up introducing the world to Solar Pons and Dr. Lyndon Parker, living in London during the 1920's and 1930's. Pons solved crimes using deduction and ratiocination, often referring to Holmes as "The Master" or "My illustrious predecessor". Since his first appearance, Pons has been a favorite with Sherlockians.

Now, for the first time ever, the estate of August Derleth has authorized an anthology of Solar Pons novellas! These new adventures range in length from about 15,000 words (longer than a short story) to 40,000 words (almost a novel). Each of them fully and traditionally falls within the Pontine Canon.

The Novellas

• The Adventure of Mack the Chipper by Chris Chan - A murderer is killing members of parliament and leaving an order of fish and chips at the scenes of the crimes. What is the killer's motivation for the killings and why does he leave such an unusual trademark behind? Only Solar Pons can find the answers to these questions and bring the criminal to justice.

• The Adventure of the Immortal Dead Man by David Marcum - Solar Pons investigates the death of Neil Asford, a man who claimed to have discovered the secret to living forever. Was Asford murdered by a friend, a foreign agent, or by some other diabolical foe? It is up to Pons to untangle the web of this multiversal mystery.

• The Devil's Book by Nick Cardillo - Wealthy client Claude Dixon claims that a 300 hundred year old spell book with the power to summon the Devil himself has been stolen. It is up to Solar Pons to retrieve the book and solve the mystery involving specters, the occult, and conjurers of evil.

• The Goblins of Faegan Hill by Derrick Belanger - First, strange little creatures were spotted in the small town of Faegan Hill. Then, Mysterious satyr tracks were found near the body of archeologist Dr. Larsen near his excavation site. Could the mystery have a rational explanation or could a supernatural force be behind it?
