Description
As far as Katie Rizo is concerned, Greece is the dead and (mostly) forgotten first act of her life. She promised herself years ago that she would never return to the village where everyone hated her guts for no discernible reason. So when her grandmother dies, leaving her half a house and half her fortune, Katie's first instinct is to hire a lawyer to decline her Greek inheritance. Unfortunately, the wheels of Greek bureaucracy move slowly without bribery to grease their path, and she decides the only way to deal with the inheritance she doesn't want is to fly there herself. The sooner she goes, the faster she can relegate Greece back to her past, where it belongs.
But nobody puts Greece in the corner -- not for long, anyway.
As soon as she's back on familiar pebbled beaches, Katie discovers her grandmother had plans, including, but not limited to throwing her directly into the path of the best friend who ghosted her when she moved away. Her former friend is no longer the skinny kid who fished without a hook and bait. He's also the recipient of the other half of her grandmother's house and fortune.
Summer isn't destined to be boring, not with all the secrets about to be dredged up from the past. And when Katie's origin story is revealed, it's going to set off a new batch of fireworks. There's going to be murder, pet turkeys, and an excessively sparkly sash that says I WON. If you listen carefully, you can hear the village's biggest gossips exercising their texting thumbs.
