With Thoth's help and Tommy's assistance in removing the National Guard, Casey receives an offer that may change the community's future: to become an NCO, a Non-Commissioned Officer, working for Thoth and reporting any odd activity. In return, the community would receive weekly aid, security, and other perks. Thoth maintains the idea of staging and storing equipment at the community, a midway point between facilities, which makes Casey envision the possibility of the community thriving.

Tommy and a hivemind AI deploy to a rogue facility cut off from Thoth to attempt to retake it, and discover something that alters his life forever. He may have questioned his existence before, but now? In the meantime, Tommy and Casey brainstorm about the community's future and consider the possibility of rebuilding Polson, the nearby town.
