Description
Cilla has spent a lifetime suffocating under the weight of other people's dreams. Trapped in a dying Alabama town, she tends to her alcoholic, Elvis-worshiping mother while burying her own voice, a voice meant for far bigger stages. All the while, her brother Todd basks in the spotlight as an Elvis impersonator, fuelling her insecurities and envy.
When their mother's self-destruction tragically ends, the siblings are left to gather the shattered pieces of a life defined by obsession and regret. Cilla is forced to honour her mother's final, haunting request: to scatter her ashes first at Elvis Presley's birthplace in Tupelo, then at his grave in Graceland.
With Todd chasing a desperate bid to reinvent himself in Nashville, terrified of shedding the glittering disguise that defines him, Cilla sets out on a road trip through Mississippi and Tennessee, haunted by guilt and a fear of driving. She finds an unexpected companion in Wolf, an enigmatic Native American man whose own scars run deep. As they travel across the ghost-haunted South, every mile rips open old wounds and forces Cilla to confront the mother who chained her, the brother who stole her light, and the music that might still save her -- if she can ever find the strength to claim it.
