Inevitably, contact with ets will occur. There are simply so many trillions of suns with planets that it is only a matter of time until they make contact with us. This will not occur because we are an irresistibly attractive species. The discovery of human beings is what we call anthropology. And they are likely to contact us, since we are such a primitive culture, and cannot contact them.
It's inevitable. It will take us at least several years to "prep" ourselves for first contact, so we should begin "yesterday," if not sooner!
So, I suggest that we begin now (2015). How? We can start by learning to accept, tolerate, and even love, human beings of other races, religions, and societies. Adaptation is the key: If we are ever going to "adapt" to the existence of other (higher) lifeforms in the galaxy, we must begin with this pitiable nanoplanet -- earth.
