Description

There are plenty of books that describe how to search for the all-important support needed after the loss of a loved one, but few are designed to be a part of the support system itself. This book is the 2nd edition of Hour To Hour and has been updated to reflect todays' culture that includes looking at spiritual help from all sides.

Since Granger Westberg's Good Grief in 1971 and Elisabeth Kubler-Ross's on Death and Dying in 1969, a number of bereavement books have made a welcome appearance upon the mourning market. Most of them address the stages of grief, explain what to expect, and inevitably give suggestions on how to get through the grieving process. Yet, they are not books that can easily be read in the initial stages of mourning. As most of these books explain, the grieving suffer under tremendous stress. Kenneth J. Doka the Editor from "Journeys, a Newsletter to Help in Bereavement" explains that the grieving "may feel physically drained, tired, even in pain. {They} may find it hard to focus or concentrate." Hour to Hour takes this into consideration and offers support in short, supportive and personal passages that don't require the reader to deliberate over lengthy explanations. The reflections are brief, to the point, and in a conversational style easily accepted by people of various backgrounds.

Hour To Hour, Your Grief Book contains simple yet powerful meditations for every hour of the day for 30 days of mourning. It can help provide the support that can be difficult to find. Reading the book is a flexible endeavor. The reader can begin in one of several ways which makes it easy to use no matter when in the grieving process they receive it. They can begin reading immediately following the death of a loved one; they can begin the 30 day reading on the day of the funeral or memorial; they can synchronize their reading with the day of the month they are in. The reader who has lost a loved one can also continue to use the book sequentially for months, receiving on-going inspiration and support.
