Burton Egbert Stevenson (1872-1962) was an American author, librarian, and anthologist. A native of Chillicothe, Ohio, Stevenson spent much of life there, serving as librarian of the city library from 1899-1957. He also served as the European director of the Library War Service during World War I and established the American Library in Paris following the war. During his long career, Stevenson published more than 50 books including mysteries, children's books, and anthologies.
