Description

What happens when dementia, depressed dipsomania and downright dottiness decide to uproot from the UK and move to France together.

Worried by the lack of care for her frail elderly mother in the UK, Tottie decides a new life elsewhere might be the answer. Sell the Pig is a travel tale with a twist, describing with alternating humour and poignancy how a somewhat dysfunctional family decide to uproot and move to rural France.

Eccentric Tottie, her manic depressive alcoholic brother, their mother, whose dementia has given her an obsession with bums, and an equally elderly border collie, decide France's Auvergne is to be their new home.

This book will answer your questions like 'Did it all work out?' 'Why the Auvergne region?' and 'Where IS the Auvergne region?'

What the Readers say... Travel memoir with a difference

Kept me company during my days under the duvet fighting off a cold/virus.

This isn't any ordinary travel memoir from the author Tottie Limejuice who I met on Twitter. Tottie certainly has a way with words, nothing boring here folks. We've all read books about 'My life in France and why I moved to France for a better life,' well this one is completely different because of the specific way it is told. Together we see through Tottie's eyes, told in a humorous way, why she took the decision to uproot from the UK and settle in France with her elderly mother suffering from dementia.
Great read that will have you chuckling out loud in parts.

Sell the Pig

If you are an avid reader and an avid reader of true stories then you will love Sell the Pig! It is both lighthearted and heartfelt! The author regales you with her tales of her mother and brother, beloved dog and touches on earlier and later parts of her life too! Which all in all leaves you wanting more. Please do give this book a go, you won't regret it and like me will be urging the author to write more!

Why move to France?
Why Move To France? This is one woman's answer to that question. Not just another 'Brit in the Dordogne' account, but a funny and touching portrait of place and people deftly and vividly described. Artfully crafted and deceptively simple, Tottie Limejuice's story of her emigration to the heart of rural France with her idiosyncratic family will charm and entertain and disturb and entrance you, leaving you wanting much more."
