Description
Loser's Memorial takes readers on a dark journey through the surreal and sinister world where war and profit mix. Written with a masterful blend of brutality, humanity and demented humor, the madness of this gruesome thrill ride stays with you right up to the finish.
Jamil is a Moroccan boy whose dreams of being a pro soccer player are destroyed when he is kidnapped by bounty hunters who falsely accuse him of being a terrorist. He is rendered into a secret prison with no chance to prove his innocence and no hope of escape. He slowly descends into madness until he finds a ray of hope from a sympathetic voice in the next cell, but can this new friend be trusted?
Pete is a down-on-his luck American teen who ends up in jail. His politically radical father rants against injustice but seems blind to his own failings. Pete eventually sees a way to escape prison and his father through a cons-to-soldiers program that offers a reduced sentence for time served in a military support field. He finds out soon enough that the program is far from what it seems.
Loser's Memorial follows both Pete and Jamil as they descend into the surreal and self-perpetuating world of war for profit. Both will eventually meet but only after they learn that sometimes the only way to escape a twisted situation is to become more twisted.
