Description
This book that began as a cd-rom (2005) that I now republish on Amazon Kindle because it has strong writing as well as information, mostly critical and autobiographical, not available elsewhere. Thus, the historic CD-rom becomes a "collector's item" as an early substantial example of an adventurous writer's use of a new publishing medium that, especially for more than 60 thousand words, seemed so opportune several years ago, though it soon became obsolete. As an avant-garde writer in the 21st Century, I'm committed to discovering the possibilities intrinsic in publishing my words in new media. One advantage intrinsic in both CD-roms and ebooks is that the Search capability eliminates the need for an index. Not only can any proper name be easily found, so can any discrete word.
The book's theme is one writer's discovery at the beginning of the 21st Century, 2001-2002, of an intellectual and epistolary style appropriate for the new age. Compared to snail mail now seems closer to mature conversation with the possibility of immediate interchanges. Notice, for instance, the absence of salutations customary at both the beginning and the ends of posted letters. Since you can answer email on your time as we did with letters (or postcards), in contrast to the telephone, I think it a great advance, at once spontaneous and considered, in intellectual communication.
