The Duke:
Duke Odwolfe of Manterra is known to his friends as Wolfe and to his enemies as Duke the Destroyer. When his prized bull goes missing, he discovers that Druids have stolen it and are about to sacrifice it in one of their pagan rituals. He's too late to save it, but demands one of the Druids return to the castle with him in exchange for his loss.
The Dryad:
Rae-Nyst is a dryad - an elemental of the earth. She gets her power from the earth and can talk to animals and control nature. However, fire is an element that can destroy her and all the nature that she loves. With the flame of the duke's torch in her face, she loses her strength and has no choice but to give in to the man, becoming naught more than his servant.
Can a man who believes in nothing but war and destruction accept the exotic fae girl who honors all life instead of death? Or will she have to give up the ways of her nearly extinct kind to stay with him, listening to her heart instead of her head?
