Description
Murder travels nicely in this popular mystery series featuring expat Maggie Newberry who lives in France with her winemaker French chef husband. Enjoy the sights and smells of Provence, the Côte d'Azur and Paris as Maggie uses her amateur (and very American) sleuthing skills to detect and confront some of the vilest murderers on the continent!
BOOK ONE: MURDER IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE. Maggie Newberry is an advertising copywriter who's fast on her feet and a little stunned to realize that she's over 30 and still hasn't found true love. When her missing sister ends up dead, Maggie flies to the south of France to find the little niece that no one in the family even knew existed. Along the way, she finds handsome, sexy Frenchman Laurent Dernier to help search for the girl. Meanwhile, her sister's murderer sets his sights on the little girl - and Maggie.
BOOK TWO: MURDER á LA CARTE. Maggie Newberry reluctantly tries on the expatriate life with her boyfriend Laurent in a small village in Provence. The beautiful and ancient mas that she and Laurent move into has a terrible and bloody history which is brought dramatically into the present by the murder of one of their friends. When a surprise clue indicates they may be connected, Maggie is determined to solve both the 1945 murder and the new one. Murder a la Carte is a mystery that takes you through Provence and into the darkest channels of the human mind.
BOOK THREE: MURDER IN PROVENCE.
This book takes you further into the sleepy little French town of St-Buvard, where Maggie and Laurent discover not one but four murders to spice up their tenure in Provence. The wine, the food, the scenery and sexy French chef and winemaker Laurent make the journey a very palatable one indeed!
A year spent living in the south of France is not all it's cracked up to be -- especially when you have no job, a prickly first year of marriage, and your new BFF is murdered virtually before your eyes. Maggie Newberry is determined to help the investigations into Brigitte's murder even if the incredibly sexy and very available French police detective on the case can only complicate her life in every possible way. Murder in Provence is set in the ancient city of Arles and, like the other books in the series, showcases the sights and mouthwatering cuisine of Provence -- with a healthy dash of murder.
All three books are clean reads in the cozy mystery style of amateur sleuths!
