Description
When the wife of a former government minister is killed by a javelin whilst jogging on a South London common, it's clearly a case for 'Unlucky 13' - an elite team of detectives whose remit is to investigate crimes involving royals, politicians or celebrities. Led by the philandering DCI Paul Walker, they at first assume the connection is to the victim's disgraced husband, but then they discover that the dead woman was an Ofsted Inspector... When another Schools Inspector is found murdered in equally bizarre circumstances in Coventry, Unlucky 13 soon find themselves investigating a series of shocking crimes which threaten to tear apart the government's newly formed schools inspectorate.
And yet it is the personal lives of Walker's team which threaten to make 13 live up to their unlucky reputation, as their own failure to put their own house in order leads them into confronting the darkness at the heart of their elite unit.
This is J.P. Lomas' second full length murder mystery and the first to feature the team of detectives known as Unlucky 13. 13 is a unit which specialises in investigating crimes with a royal, political or celebrity connection. The team return for further adventures in 'Whodunnit', 'Murder at Her Majesty's Pleasure' and 'The House of Russian Dolls.'
J.P. Lomas' debut novel, 'The Maggie Murders' is also available from Amazon in both an e-version and paperback.
