Description
Mention witchcraft to most people and they know what you are talking about. Or at least they think they do. Black magic, white magic, this is what it's all about isn't it. Well actually it's not quite as simple as that.
Witchcraft can take many forms, depending on the cultural context.
This book isn't really about witchcraft, it's about Wicca, and will I hope begin to explain what Wicca is.
Witchcraft and Wicca are similar in many respects, and Wicca does draw from some witchcraft traditions, but according to Wiccans they are not the same thing.
Wicca is a recognized religion whilst witchcraft on the other hand is not considered by Wiccans a true religion at all.
Wicca is a belief and way of life based on pre- Christian traditions that first originated in Scotland, Ireland and Wales. It is basically a very peaceful and balanced way to live which promotes oneness with all that exists.
This book does not attempt to explore every aspect of the Wicca religion, or the Wiccan way of life. This would be impossible due to the different opinions on the subject, but I do hope it will bring some clarity to an often misunderstood and maligned topic.
