Description
Hannah hails from the beautiful port city of Miami. A land of immigrants. She understands the allure of travel and exploration. So when her family plans a cruise around the Mediterranean Sea, she jumps at the opportunity. The romance which is Italy magically brings her Brandon, a fellow Miami native, even though they're both thousands of miles from home.
Brandon has faced down dark dangers and heartaches during his years with the Coast Guard in Miami's brutal waters. Drug smugglers, starving Cubans - he thought he had seen it all. But when he walks in on his about-to-be-fiance in bed with his best friend, he reaches rock bottom. He takes that cruise alone, little knowing that it will change his life.
But Brandon and Hannah have more than their hearts in jeopardy as they move from Rome to Florence, from Monte Carlo to Sicily. For Italy is a land of opportunity for some - and callous cruelty for others. Unscrupulous human smugglers have made it their mission to twist every last euro from the hands of desparate immigrants before abandoning them to a fate worse than death. When Brandon's honed instincts cause him to see what others wished to remain hidden, he will have to risk everything to keep Hannah safe - while bringing an end to the monsters of the sea.

Half of the author's proceeds of all Ophelia Sikes books benefit battered women's shelters.
Love's Heat is the first novella in the Italian Nights series. Due to the strong sexual content and adult situations, this book is recommended for readers aged 17+. The first four novellas have cliff-hanger endings, which lead to the final novella with a happily-ever-after.
From the Author:
Some readers don't like cliffhangers where they have to wait for the next book to find out what happens. That's fine! If that's you, simply wait until I finish a series and then buy the boxed set. Other readers don't want to wait the one to two months it takes me to write the full series and would rather read along as I go. That way they can provide feedback and suggestsions on the storyline. Whichever way works well for you, I provide an option.
I come from a family which adores Italy. My parents strive to go every year, and I've been several times there myself. I took this very cruise through the Mediterranean Sea and wrote my notes while I traveled. The sights, sounds, aromas, and atmosphere of this exotic region are just as I personally experienced them.
If you haven't been to Italy, Monaco, Spain, or France, I highly recommend it. Even if you have to save a little each year to make it a trip of a lifetime, it is well worth it. These locations are the cradle of civilization. The art, food, and culture created here resonate throughout time.
In the meantime, enjoy this virtual vacation written from my first-hand experiences!
