The gluten free diet is a specifically formulated diet prescribed by doctors to people who are suffering from the Celiac disease as well as those with gluten intolerance. It is not often that a medically prescribed diet goes mainstream attracting millions of followers many of whom are not even suffering from the health conditions for which the diet is normally prescribed. Certainly, the gluten free diet is one of these diets-if not the only medical diet of its kind to become a successful and sensational dieting craze. In fact the gluten free rage has become so popular that it gave birth to a new, robust, and fast expanding gluten free processed food industry.
The ideal gluten free diet must also be a low carb, high protein diet derived from unprocessed food sources that are as natural and organic as they can be.
By this definition, the ideal gluten free diet effectively eliminates all processed foods (gluten free or not) from your shopping list - which as will be explained later, ultimately leads to significant weight loss.
