Description
This Kindle version of The Reading Lesson book is in full color but is otherwise is same as the print version of the book.
The Reading Lesson is a bestselling program used by over 200K families that teaches young children to read in 20 easy lessons. It is designed as a step-by-step course for parents who want to teach their young children to read at home. This eBook can be used as a companion to the physical book (which is available here on Amazon) or it can be used all by itself. The colorful pages on a smartphone or an iPad delight the child and make it fun to learn to read.
The Reading Lesson is a fully comprehensive reading program for your child. The book is clean and non-intimidating, both for you the parent, and the child. There are 20 lessons, each is approximately 20 pages. We suggest you do only 2-3 pages per day for children under 4, and only 3-4 pages for older children.
Each lesson introduces certain letters and a limited vocabulary of new words. Your child will have the happy feeling of being able to read tiny little stories from the very first lesson.
Our approach combines phonics and keyword recognition to build fluency.
Special symbols are used to help children remember sound units and ones that are hard to distinguish such as b and d.
The course is developmentally appropriate and keeps distractions to a minimum.
If you are only using this Kindle version, we strongly suggest getting the Teach Me Handwriting book that is available here on Amazon and on our website in pdf form. Handwriting is essential in learning to read. It helps form a motor memory of the words and makes recognizing words much easier. For children under the age of five, we recommend the ABC Writing Lesson book (in color), also available here at Amazon.
The teaching method we use in The Reading Lesson is based on phonics and keyword recognition, and with its innovative and guided approach, the 20 step-by-step lessons provide an easy-to-follow recipe for teaching children to read. This Kindle version book is in full color but is otherwise identical to the print version of the book. You may try this book and if your child enjoys doing the lessons, consider getting the print book. The print book allows a more interactive experience and you will see rapid progress in your child's reading ability.
The completion of the course will take your child from little reading skills to approximately the second-grade level. Start with the sample lessons today. There are a lot of freebies and downloads on our website which will help make the process fun for the child.
