He's not at all like your average cop and has his own unique way of dealing with any prejudice his differences bring him. No heavy drinking, no failed marriage, just a steady, long-term relationship. He and his partner have cats, not kids.

But this serial killer seems to be running effortless rings round Ted and his team. Every promising lead just takes them up another frustrating blind alley. Then it starts to get personal.

Baby's Got Blue Eyes was the first book written in the popular Ted Darling Crime Series. There is now a retrospectively-written prequel, The First Time Ever, which can be read first, or at any point in the series.

I love this series and can't wait to read more. Ted Darling is a real gem. He's intelligent, caring, respectful and a talented martial artist. The other characters are likable and people you root for. The pace is very good and the culprit wasn't easy to spot until near the end.

Drawn into the story from the first page with descriptions of characters that presented them very much as 3-dimensional people. The author has created truly believable characters and it was not difficult to relate emotionally to all of them, in some way. As a reader, I enjoyed the range of emotions elicited, the sadness, the pleasure, the harshness, the thrills, the twists and the conspiracy.
