Description
England, 1830.
England is in the midst of industrial revolution, and Kattrin Revel's father has been one of the few in the village of Wooburn to prosper from the industrialisation of the paper mills the village livelihood is built around.
His rise to prosperity hasn't softened Kattrin's father though, and he rules his daughter with the same cruel hand as he runs his mills.
One of her only friends is her father's mill manager - handsome, clever, Joshua Delahaye, who has liberal ideas and aspirations to keep Wooburn peaceful.
The pair are caught between the poor villagers and the aristocrats of Wooburn, and when rebellion rises throughout the country both Kattrin and Joshua are caught up in the crossfire.
Can Kattrin escape her father?
Will Joshua achieve the peace he so desires?
And when England is in the midst of rebellion can a fresh start be found in the colonies?
How hard will the journey be to get there... ?
