David has a huge problem. Even though it's early in the school year, he's failing his classes. Things get worse when Myrna, a girl with magical power, shows up at his doorstep. She is upset about her placement using a magic she doesn't like. She is destined to become a banshee, and those who hear her wail are doomed to die or suffer the loss of someone close to them.

She's been crying a lot and accidentally curses David with her wail. Now they have to travel to Myrna's world to remove the curse. Not all is at it seems as Myrna leads David into greater danger.
