Description
Twenty years is a long time, yet it has flown by. I remember that my first game in the New Inn was a Friday night against Kilmarnock, and we went through a Cup final, before the suggestion arose that we should start a club, about a year later.
When we got together, I don't think we imagined being around twenty years later, nor did we ever think of the ups and downs that both we and Celtic would have to endure over the years. As Celtic fans, we are accustomed to hardship and disappointment, and we have seen both in plenty for our club and our team.
There have been great highs; Seville, the Seville anniversary party, being able to maintain six season tickets, reaching 80 members at one point, club trips, both home and abroad and the great collective buzz that surrounded us all in the early days. There were also the characters that passed through the club, some fleetingly and some who stayed for longer, and the very few who outstayed their welcome. However, the principal for me has been the friendships formed and the bonds created, that like our great club, will never die.
A couple of final notes of a more personal nature. There are people whose names have not been mentioned here who have contributed to the club and its successes, and our gratitude goes to all of them, even if not identified individually. They maintained us through thick and thin.
These are the stories from, and about, the Members of this great CSC. Members from all walks of life, different backgrounds but one thing that binds us together is our love for Celtic. I hope you enjoy this book. Hail Hail.
