The ultimate galactic adventure. In the year 2266, a professional women's soccer team goes on safari to the outer planetary systems of the galaxy looking for thrills and excitement, but when they land on the planet Kessler 26-E and are drafted into the Deep Space Infantry (Federation Law, Title VI, Military Obligations of Federation Citizens, Section Three A, Subsection D), they get more than they bargained for. What begins as a team-building quest soon turns into a battle for survival when they encounter creatures that want to eat them, forbidding environments, and a savage alien army determined to kill them. But when the women eat a certain type of food found only on Kessler 26-E, they became stronger, faster, and more intelligent.

Commanded by Captain Luke Webb, Deep Space Infantry, an experienced combat veteran of the Pegasi War, they quickly develop into an effective fighting force. Their training takes place under the watchful eye of Lieutenant Megan Harley, also a combat veteran of the Pegasi War, where she commanded a platoon of Deep Space Infantry, and Sergeants Derek Reed and Chris Scott, who along with Webb were the sole survivors of a desperate engagement against a large force of Dragids on Pegasi 44-A, a fight that eventually devolved into hand-to-hand combat with the reptilian aliens.

Fighting side-by-side with the humans is a unit of martial robots. Designed strictly for warfare, the menacing 3-meter tall robots are nothing more than lethal killing machines who, with their advanced AI, are programmed to fight autonomously and to protect human lives at all costs. The robots prove their worth during a protracted fight with the Gorgon, an advanced alien race with technology similar to mankind's. But when the Gorgon chase them from one star system to the next, Nick Dekker, owner of the team and a former Space Marine, suspects Webb and Harley are not telling him everything about their mission, forcing him and his sidekick, Ron Montana, to join the fighting, both of them determined to get the team safely back to Earth.
