Description
Robert Widders served in the Navy, Army, and RAF: He joined the Navy at the age of 15, then went on to serve in Cold War naval missions, Naval Intelligence in Northern Ireland, a Tank Regiment in West Germany during the Cold War, and an RAF War Hospital during the Gulf War (Desert Storm).
His story captures both the excitement and the tedium of military life. His adventures include running ultra-marathons and expeditions to the Sahara and Everest base camp, all while battling personal demons of alcoholism and childhood trauma.
