Description
Terror! It strikes London and Glasgow on the beating of a beetle's wings...
Ayman al-Zawahiri, head of al-Qaeda, has a keen sense of Islamic history. He has decided that his legacy will be a weapon so bizarre that the infidel will be shocked into negotiations. So he has formed an unholy alliance with the Russian Mafia, who provide him with Novichok nerve agents, neatly pre-packed. He has found a country - Cambodia - where no one asks questions if the money is right. There he has set up a lab where Rahim, a British jihadist and would-be epigeneticist, can oversee the modification of the giant beetles that act as delivery systems.
But at the sharp end of history there are always people. The success or failure of al-Zawahiri's plot depends on three individuals: Rahim, who has conflicts aplenty; Thomas, who must pick up - somewhere among the wats and gilded palaces, the bars and dusty markets of Thailand and Cambodia - a trail to Rahim's lair; and Champey from Phnom Penh, the most tempting girl on earth, who'll risk her life to help Thomas because she hopes that thereby she can take vengeance on her own prime minister.
Al-Zawahiri is planning a 'spectacular'. Can Thomas and Champey stop him?
