In this article (15,431 words, 33 photographs) we discuss our six-day trip to Prague in the Czech Republic. We discuss our daily activities; present photographs of the wonderful buildings; provide a comprehensive list of references (hyperlinks); identify and describe key landmarks; and highlight the notable persons who were consistently highlighted during our visit. Our highlights, disappointments, lessons learnt and what we'd do if we visited again, are all discussed.
On arrival, we settled into our apartment, sourced provisions and walked around our immediate neighbourhood. Across the next six days were visited a Farmer's Market; undertook two private walking tours covering Prague Castle, Lesser Town, Charles Bridge, the Old Town, and Wenceslas Square; experienced a wonderful concert and two fine dining restaurants; spent an evening on the banks of the Vltava River; and revisited the key attractions.
Architecture was one key theme of our trip. We spent some early mornings securing photos of the wonderfully preserved buildings in Prague, many of which are contained in this eBook. Appendix A discusses the architectural styles to be found in Prague. The other theme explored in our eBook is the history of Prague in the 20th century. A synopsis is provided in Appendix B. Appendix C contains a comprehensive list of the references we used to plan and undertake our trip.
We can confidently say that Prague lives up to its reputation and then some. Take a week to visit this wonderful city and admire the architecture of its buildings.
