Description
R&R: A period of rest and recuperation for those who serve in war; At least, that's what the American Military calls it. Others call it rest and relaxation. Hoo-rah.
War is hell, and getting a break from it is hard to do. But after a twenty-three year old Blackfoot Marine Sergeant Scout Sniper from Montana named Two Feathers leads a 1st Recon Battalion patrol into the DMZ, Battalion Commander Colonel Davidson is convinced to give Two Feathers a much needed, much deserved R&R.
The mission: Shoot and sink NVA supply boats on the Ben Hai River carrying heavy artillery rounds. Marines are dying. Division Intelligence believes that sinking the boats will disrupt the supply lines enough to give the 9th Marines a break from the enemy artillery's constant pounding.
The reward: Letters from a good friend and lover who needs help saving her father's rubber tree plantation from a gangster named Beushard. Sergeant Two Feathers' time of rest and recuperation quickly becomes yet another fight for survival.
