Our Lady Of Guadalupe, the "Virgin of Guadalupe", in Roman Catholicism, in the basilica of Mexico City, is the most visited Catholic pilgrimage site in the world. In 1531, Our Lady appeared as an apparition on Tepeyac Hill in Mexico, to Juan Diego, a native Aztec American, that had converted to Catholicism. She brought the message of evangelism, the light of true faith, as she intervened to reconcile the Spanish and the Aztec natives to an era of peace. She would appear in four apparitions to Juan Diego, to request that the bishop build a church, and offering proof that she was indeed the Blessed Virgin with Castilian roses and the miracle of the tilma image upon Juan Diego's cloak.
