Getting struck by lightning tends to be bad for one's health - often fatally so - but for Rob Michael and Bert Bruce it had quite the opposite effect; it made them immortal.

That was just the start of their problems.

Having made a connection with the ancient and bad tempered alien, Humphrey, they must now help him travel across Europe to find the volcano his ship is hidden in, (if he can remember which volcano). Encountering on the way a father and daughter illusionist act, an intimidating German family with a shady secret, and a bureaucrat with a clip board. Oh and all the while avoiding a couple of psychotic doctors who want to do very unpleasant things to them - over and over and over again.
But the three of them don't have to face these perils alone, Bert's sister Sally is coming along to help - she writes greetings cards for a living.
