Kyra Belan: Symbolic Magic is a full color art catalog of ninety two pages and is a record of the installation of paintings and drawings that were created as a site specific installation for the unique space of the historic building in Fort Myers, the Sidney and Berne Art Center. This site specific installation featured several series of Kyra Belan's artworks, and a seventy two inch screen featuring three decades of Belan's previous installations, making this installation a retrospective of her work.
Kyra Belan is inspired by the tropical beauty of the state of Florida and the US, and includes the animals, the symmetry of human form, and the beauty of nature. The extensive color palette of the artist expresses visually the extreme beauty of tropical Mother Nature. The artist works with several ongoing concepts to celebrate life, nature, harmony, spirituality, and a peaceful coexistence of humans with their natural environment. Belan includes many symbols, legends, and myths into her artworks and lets the viewers discover the multilayered meanings within her artworks.
