Description
From the time she was a young child, Lillian had to work harder, study longer, and fight for everything she wanted in life, but when her heart was set on becoming a rancher, like her father, she was stopped at every turn. She was a beautiful young woman with only one drawback, maybe two. She wanted to be a rancher, a man's job, and she had a childhood injury that left her with limited mobility.
Her brothers flaunted her disability every chance they got and told her to marry someone, anyone, to take care of her. When a handsome young rancher came along who talked to her, rancher to rancher, she thought he was only interested in her particular breed of cattle. Just as she was willing to accept God's will that she move into town and give up her dream of ranching, she met Josiah.
When a fluke accident left her father with no choice but to send her to Chicago rather than amputate her foot, things began to change.
