Description

The Bow Street Society is a fictional group of amateur detectives, operating in Victorian London. Each of its civilian members has been enlisted for their unique skill or exceptional knowledge in a particular field derived from their usual occupation. Members are assigned to cases, by the Society's clerk, Miss Trent, based upon these skills and fields of knowledge.

About the book: The Bow Street Society Casebook is a series of mini mysteries. An illusionist, medical doctor, veterinary surgeon, architect, freelance journalist, solicitor, artist, cabman, secretary, and newspaper journalist are all called upon by the Society's clerk, Miss Rebecca Trent, to investigate a plethora of peculiar puzzles. From a sweet-shop owner who believes he's losing height at an alarming rate to the mysterious disappearance of a woman from inside a carriage. From a beloved family pet being the subject of a bizarre accusation, to a conversation with a dead man, to an unjust dismissal from a toy makers. Each Bow Street Society member must draw upon their knowledge and expertise to solve these baffling problems once and for all...

Unlike the Bow Street Society series of books, the stories in the Bow Street Society Casebook series don't revolve around murders. Their focus is on minor crimes and moral misdemeanours played out through unusual circumstances instead.
